Advice on Cleansing
Every one of our 7 sound custom made juice formulas gives about a fourth of the normal day by day suggested foods grown from the ground per glass (5 1/2 containers for a 2,000-calorie eat fewer carbs). A few examinations demonstrate that adding more leafy foods to your eating routine can enhance your emotional well-being and feeling of prosperity, yet the majority of us don’t get enough. While smoothies, by and large, contain more fiber (on the grounds that the entire bit winds up in the last item) and more natural product, new squeezes can be stacked with dull verdant greens and heaps of red, orange as well as purple vegetables to help augment the supplements in each glass. Our 7-day juice plan gives you delectable formulas consistently to enable you to add more products of the soil to your eating regimen.
Before a Cleanses
If you like to be prepared, you can plan out your juices for the week and what you’re going to throw in them. It’s good to have a rough idea of the types of juices or green smoothies you’ll be making during the fast, and shop accordingly. This avoids waste and saves money.
Also, stock up on herbal teas. You can have as many herbal teas as you like during the day, and it’s a great excuse to buy some more exotic blends, especially any herbs that are beneficial to and aid detoxing.
Another great drink to have during the day is lemon in hot water with some ginger. Blend up a small piece of ginger with a glass of filtered water and you have a lovely ginger juice to go with your hot lemon drink. Very alkalizing and detoxifying.
The great news is that you can juice or make green smoothies as often as you like during the day, or when you get hungry. Here is an example of my shopping list (I will have a few fruits in there, but I aim to keep the sugar content down as much as possible during the fast.):

Lemon Juice cleanse
Ingredients
- 2-1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 organic lemon cut into slices (I like the taste of Meyer lemons best)
- 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 2 teaspoons honey (optional
Tomato Juice cleanse
- Working in this order, process lettuce, chives, tomatoes, jalapeno, bell pepper, celery and carrot through a juicer according to the manufacturer’s directions. (No juicer? See Tip.)
- Fill 2 glasses with ice, if desired, and pour the juice into the glasses. Serve immediately.
- No juicer? No problem. Try this DIY version of blended and strained juice instead: Coarsely chop all ingredients. First, place the soft and/or juice ingredients in the blender and process until liquefied. Then, add the remaining ingredients; blend until liquefied. Cut two 24-inch-long pieces of cheesecloth. Completely unfold each piece and then stack the pieces on top of each other. Fold the double stack in half so you have a 4-layer stack of cloth. Line a large bowl with the cheesecloth and pour the contents of the blender into the center. Gather the edges of the cloth together in one hand and use the other hand to twist and squeeze the bundle to extract all the juice from the pulp. Wear a pair of rubber gloves if you don’t want the juice to stain your hands.

- 1 cup chopped hearts of romaine
- ¼ cup chopped fresh chives
- 2 large tomatoes, cut into wedges
- ¼ fresh jalapeño stemmed and seeded

With the probiotic drink, I like to make a Coconut Kefir at home.
I’d also strongly recommend booking a colonic or two along with some infra-red sauna sessions and massages. They are great at helping move the detoxification process along as some of you may find (as I do), things just stop working altogether! And during a detox, its crucial things keep moving.
Buy a dry skin brush from your local health food store, or sometimes a good chemist will sell them. This help
Stimulate the lymph system and remove dead skin cells daily.
Let your friends and family know of your planned juice fast, and ask for their support during this time. They may think you are crazy, but you’re in a great position to set an example and be a walking advertisement for all the benefits of doing a juice fast! It might even inspire them to go and do one themselves!
Try to scale back your social engagements, it will be way too tempting to be out and surrounded by food and possibly alcohol.
Have some guided meditation CDs on hand, as these will come in handy during those moments of wanting to give in! Also get online and chat with others who are also juice fasting at the same time as you. Moral support is so important during this time and really does help.
Buy a journal so you can jot down daily how you are feeling before, during and after the fast. This will be great to get those thoughts, feelings, and emotions out as well as to look back on after the fast.
Also please check in with your healthcare practitioner before starting a juice fast, especially if you are on medication, have a serious illness or pregnancy.
